At first, Setsuna was a child that had been abandoned by her family. Not intentionally -- the truth of the matter was that her father was a renowned homicide detective and her mother was an overseas businesswoman, and as such, both were too busy to focus on her. From youth, a caretaker had been hired -- a young Hero sidekick named Yukiko.

Yukiko became her best friend, and effectively, her elder sister. They spent every moment together, and when it was impossible, Setsuna delved into her studies. She gained excellent marks, and when her quirk manifested, it proved to be stronger than she could handle.

Often, she would wake up in places she didn't remember. Yukiko would tend to her wounds. They were always self-inflicted; she was just trying to learn and understand this new power she'd been granted. But she was using too much energy. She was gently scolded -- at the end of it, she decided to withhold her power, only using it for when it was necessary.

After all, what did a deeply-enrooted student need for such a wild quirk?

Setsuna understood the need for it when she came home, blood splattered across wood and a pale body laid out, arms folded, petals resting atop of her like she had been set up inside of a casket. She remembered feeling the scarlet crust and crumble in her fingers, wondering why her hair was so red.

It was then that she decided she would become a Hero after Yukiko was murdered. For justice -- not for herself or for her sister, but for everyone who had been wronged by a villain, who had been affected deeply and had something dear ripped away from them.

The transfer to UA High was an logical one as she'd plunged herself into an endless spiral of honing her mind and slowly building her quirk after the incident. And with her impressive marks, she was granted entrance after showing her prowess and her proficiency with the quirks of others in the Provisional License Exams. Despite the warm welcome, she stayed quiet, kept herself to her books, and she excelled with her focus in her silence as years came and went.

When the news had arrived that Daisuke Kaneshiro was dead, it rushed through the media until it arrived to Setsuna. It was not wrapped in sympathy or kindness; it was cold, hard and real when it was served to her. It was like his head was on a silver platter, thrust into her face, and with it she came into the harsh reality of the world.

No one was safe. She had everything ripped from her. One of Japan's most renowned homicide detectives was dead, and now there was nothing she could do. Hardly anything she could mourn. Not even a body when it came time for the funeral -- it was a closed-casket, and a small, quiet memorial.

After the fact, Setsuna disappeared. She didn't attend classes. She didn't go home. It was as if she had been wiped off the map completely, gone without a trace.

In reality, she had taken a bag of things she deemed absolutely necessary and staked out a new place to stay. An old art studio that had been cleared out years ago when a villain attack within had made it unusable -- she pieced things together, quietly had it remodeled, and it became her new home.

Her reason for becoming a hero had been turned into little more than ash. While she was doing it for those that could not save themselves and to keep the memory of her sister alive, the visceral murder of her father had only broken her.

Withdrawing from any societal ties she once had, her emotions hardened and steeled, twisting. The hero name she had chosen for herself -- Catalyst -- became a bad omen. It reminded her of her failures. Her philosophy had then become that if she could not save them all and serve justice as she had once thought -- she would become judge, jury, and executioner.

The Judge had risen from a dark place inside of her heart: spreading, consuming, and becoming her.

Setsuna's quirk can conjure shockwaves at will with movement of her body, consuming her own energy supply as she goes. However, it is called Reimagine for the sheer reality of it: upon touch of another quirk user, she can empower her shockwaves with attributes of their quirk.

It cannot fully replicate any special moves of quirks, and not all quirks can be transferred into her own. This also comes with unlimited possibilities, however, in which quirks learned via contact can then be used in a variety of ways. For example, with the knowledge of a fire quirk, her shockwaves can come out as a pure flame or as the same usual shockwave but with a sweltering hot affinity instead. It depends on perspective.

Most elemental quirks can be transferred easily into Reimagine, however most physical quirks can add a different attribute. Kirishima's Hardening, for example, can make her shockwaves feel as if they hit harder, with the strength of a rock or something of similar caliber.

Setsuna can only empower her quirk with one other quirk at a time, and all of her shockwaves are dependent on her personal energy supply. Powerful quirks layered into her own will consume more energy, and thus make way for fewer uses of her quirk.

Nobody knows her real name outside of UA students (if they're aware of her presence, as she was formerly a student) & staff, who remember her face, or those with knowledge quirks that can somehow reveal her identity. To everyone else, her name is Judge, and Setsuna Kaneshiro is still considered missing. She always wears gloves. The only time she doesn't is when she's by herself. She was like this when she was in school, too, and no one quite knows why -- but it seems very important to her.She enjoys playing on her own field rather than associating herself with any kind of group. She holds no disdain or distaste for the League of Villains, but her goals don't quite align with theirs. Her emotions are volatile despite seeming too calm on the surface; setting her off isn't the easiest thing but she does have her triggers -- an example being her old hero name, where she becomes instantly hostile to whoever says it.While she knows how to better wield her quirk given her time at UA, she doesn't use it when it comes to the crimes she commits. However, when a fight comes, she will use it without hesitation -- keenly aware of her skill and how far she's come. Overuse of her quirk causes her blood vessels to rise and really show on her skin; it's a horrifying sight and has happened since she was young. Her status is renowned as MIA ever since she attended her father's funeral. In police reports, she is renowned as a missing person and there is currently a reward for any information on her whereabouts. She doesn't kill for sport; she kills for necessity and understanding. The concept of killing just to kill doesn't appeal to her, although she understands the urge to.

ERIK MAES
⠀⠀⠀The killer of her elder sister, Yukiko, renowned as Susanoo-o. While Setsuna holds a general disdain and rage, there seems to be an underlying layer to him -- a desire to repent almost. She wants to know more and understand all the details, but she keeps her desires restrained out of fear of being hurt all over again.
